Seek God's Treasure Vintage Table Decor

Another project inspired by cleaning out my closet! A few years ago Carrie gave me a super neat vintage children's indoor croquet set. We have played with it some but found that the wickets tip over very easily. But I could never bring myself to pass it on as the box and wickets were so neat and vintage-y!

Again, inspiration has not struck before now but when I looked at these this weekend I thought they would make such cute table decor! I set up three wickets and had fun decorating!

Each one has a theme: wisdom, knowledge or understanding in keeping with the treasure that we are purposing to seek together. These will look cute on our special breakfast table the morning we begin school and will provide lovely thoughts for me to share as we ponder together what it means to pursue these treasures.

Seek God's Treasure Paper Art

Continuing to create as inspiration strikes, I made a couple of things over the weekend for our first day of school celebration. I mentioned my theme is Seeking God's Treasure and I continue that theme today.

Over the weekend, I was working on cleaning out my closet and one of the bins in there was filled with some family memorabilia and photos. I had fun looking through it and showing some neat things to the girls! One thing I found among the photos was a photo folder in a pretty turquoise color that did not have a photo with it. I think I was just saving it because it was vintage and pretty, but never thought of using it for something other than a photo until now.

I don't know that I completely achieved my vision for this one as I wanted it to look like a treasure box with lots of treasure inside {all the polka dots!} but I'm still happy with how it turned out!

Beauty is Beckoning

Because trees are plentiful around here, we cannot see the sunset clearly from our yard. However, through the trees we can see the beauty that is there to be seen if we choose to chase it. My children are always up for an adventure and in less than five minutes we are at a boat landing where we can clearly see the beauty waiting for us.

Water laps the shoreline which is very rocky and full of wonderful sticks to play with! We wandered out onto the dock and each child chose a number and we read that Psalm aloud and praised our great Beauty Maker!

It feeds our souls to soak up beauty that our Creator has lavished upon us and before us. To soak in not only His created beauty but the beauty of His Word and the peacefulness of softly stirring water, birds flying, sky calming.

I am so thankful that my children have a love for beauty too. They frequently call me to see a dragonfly, watch a bird, see the beautiful sky, a butterfly, a flower, something that has caught their beauty attention. That is beauty in itself!
