Truth Telling 19: God is unchanging.

Numbers 23:19, "God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Hebrews 6:16-18, "People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts and end to all argument. Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged."

Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

James 1:16-18, "Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created."

Tell yourself this truth today: In the midst of an ever-changing world, God does not change.

Oh how grateful I am for this truth! In the constantly changing world around us (from everyday things like weather to big changes in our culture), what a blessing and comfort to know that God is the same - yesterday, today, and forever!
